Movie songs to remember

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

When movie theme songs are mentioned, most people remember the ones like “Grease” and “Hair”. But lots of movie themes get forgotten right up until you hear them. Then it’s like running into an old friend. For me, this song is one of those. From the movie “Smokey and the Bandit”, here is EAST BOUND AND DOWN by Jerry Reid. Way I understand it, he wrote this in about three hours. Best use of three hours I ever heard of!

I am in shock over this one…

Personally,it really bothers me to have to pay hundreds of dollars for glasses and sunglasses. It always feels like I am being taken to the cleaners. But I just made a Great Discovery: $ 8 Zenni Optical Rx Eyeglassess! This place keeps it’s costs low, selling only their house brand and doing almost no advertising, so they can pass the savings on to you… with no middleman to make things expensive. With single vision prescription glasses starting at only EIGHT DOLLARS, how can you beat it?

Lanza. Period.

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

No one will ever be able to argue that the great voice of Mario Lanza brought much to the music world. This rare clip from the 1950s shows him singing one of his best. It is recorded in the original Italian. We hope it brings you as much joy as it brings us every time we hear it…. SANTA LUCIA.

Always On My Mind

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

Had he lived, Elvis Presley would have tirned 72 this week. That fact is a little startling to me, because I remember him much younger. No one cnan argue that he influenced the world of music in a way that no one else ever could have. The world somehow became a little less bright back on that day in 1977 when he died.

The following video, ALWAYS ON MY MIND, shows some very interesting clips from Elvis’s marriage. I’m not sure who put this together, but they did a great job.

Sinatra still makes me shiver…

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

Frank Sinatra has always been a favorite. In this version of MOON RIVER, his softer style comes through admirably. He was one of the few singers of his time who could do both smooth, soft songs and power songs with the same result… great music. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do.
